I've been bad. Very bad. Fortunately Melissa over at the offside is blogging again and has the 10,000 ft. roundup. Of course the official USWNT blog has great coverage, including a recap of the USWNT's stoppage time 2-1 victory over Norway, mixed in with the resident silliness.
So far what stands out for me is the USA's bacon being saved in their first game against Iceland by Hope Solo saving two penalty kicks. Yeah. Melissa has the video, and both stops are awesome. I'm disappointed that the highlights didn't include video of US defenders shamefully pulling down Icelandic attackers in what would have been an embarrassing draw had Solo not come up big.
Amanda Vandervort has some good in-depth coverage that fills in the tournament games over at Soccer Science. Yesterday's post had her taking in a German WNT training session, and Friday she had a really good rundown of China-Denmark and Germany-Finland with lots of audio analysis.
I bow before the superior blogging of others with a plane ticket and a financial stake in getting information out there.
