You really should read the comic for the full context. Even allowing for the fact that certain segments of my readership will not understand much about the comic, not even I can deduce the significance of a Sounders sweatshirt in the second panel. I'm sure there's an inside joke I'm missing.

The strip specifically hilights that it is not actualy child abuse but that obviously the family next store is as into Star Wars as the guy making the phone call but that they disagree over something quite fundamental.
So far it reminds me of the Emo Philips protestant joke but it will be interesting to see if they continue the story-line in the future.
Also if I recall correctly the Penny Arcade guys are from Seattle. So it would stand to reason that they might have neighbors who are Sounders fans and want to reflect that in the comic.
Likewise, they harp on video games and video game politics. It's their schtick. Sounders wear Xbox on their jersey, yes? Something tells me there might be a correlation there.
Yeah that guy is outside raking his leaves looking at his weirdo neighbor.
