On being the winningest coach in MLS History

Damn it feels good to be a gangster. I just realized I never properly reflected on my pure and total awesomeness - what better time to do it now than the cold months of winter? Pull up a chair and be warmed by the size of my indomitable ego. I mean, yeah, I played it cool leading up to the record:"It just means I've been around for a while and that I'm older," Schmid said, not trying to call much attention to the milestone. "I've always said the one that I like and the one that's important to me is the playoff wins. I know I lead in that and that's something I'd like to continue to expand upon and grow upon...it would be a nice accomplishment [passing Bradley] and I'll be proud of it, for sure, but it just means that I've been here for a while."
And do you know why I've been here for a while? Because I'm the best fake coach this fake league has ever seen. Only one to win MLS Cup with two different teams, only one to coach Seattle Sounders to complete and total glory.
Schmid reflected on his many years in the sport.
"When I look back at soccer and like I say to friends sometimes, I think over the last 25 years of my life I've made my income primarily from soccer. It's not something that I would have believed when I was coming out of college, and that's something I'm for sure happy about."
Yeah, and I've made a lot of fucking money, too. Manhattan Beach real estate don't come cheap, you know. To paraphrase Too Short, I love to get money - better get it while you can, man.
And then when I got the record, while I simultaneously ended FC Dallas' season (mwahahah), I again put it in perspective for the filthy hacks like Creepy Jose:
But the biggest number of all was 125 – as in the career win total for Sigi Schmid, making him the winningest coach in the history of Major League Soccer.
"There's been a lot of good coaches in this league and to have won more games than any of them fills me with a lot of humbleness and also a lot of honor and pride to know that I was able to accomplish that," Schmid said. "As I said, my favorite record is most wins in the playoffs and that's the one I want to build on."
Yeah, my favorite record is winning trophies that matter, and I'm completely gutted that I didn't do that this year. But oh well. I've knocked Bradley from a perch he really didn't deserve to be on, and all of soccer loving America should thank me for doing that. Now you no longer have to associate ultimate victory in MLS with that dour, uninventive sourpuss. It's all about me.
Just me. The winningest coach in MLS, winningest coach in the league playoffs, reigning US Open Cup King. One word:
Baller.
Let's do this next year and put some distance between Bradley and me so he doesn't take it back after he gets canned as National Team coach and I take over while he ends up boot licking at Chivas or Toronto or some other out of the way hell hole. Much love to the fans, you make my ego possible.
Fake Sigi out.
